Pre season is done, during February and March we played 5 friendly matches against quality opponents, we managed to win twice, draw twice and have one defeat.
Now, it is time to focus on the round of competitive matches that will start on Sunday. We will play the first round after the break in Dvory nad Žitavou at 2:30 p.m., and then a week later at 3:00 p.m. we will have our first home match against Neded.
Arrivals and departures
There were a few changes in the squad, we said goodbye to Juraj Krkoška and Marcel Kurej, we thank both of them for work done for the club and we wish them much success in the next part of their football careers. Lukáš Félis, who is suffering from an injury, will be out of sports and fields for a long time. Four new faces are coming o a loan during the second part of the season. They are Adam Barborík and Marek Hrnčár from Čeľadice, Oliver Valko from Zlaté Moravce and Jozef Sova from Bardejov. Our youngster and “hometown” boy Samuel Hozlár also joined the team and thus expanded the enclave of our young Brancans. We will introduce the guys on our social networks and there will certainly be traditional interviews in the Bulletin.
Further changes in the A team
Before the second half of the season, assistant coach Andrej Núdzny quit at his request. We also thank Andrej for the work done and wish him much success in his personal and professional life. His role during the training was already taken over by Jozef Čertík, who became the playing assistant coach. We wish him much success in his new position.
As indicated by the changes in the team, we remain with the philosophy we introduced approximately two years ago, to create a team of young, promising and interesting players. We will again try to play the most attractive football possible and fight for the best possible result in every match.
Youth teams
Under the leadership of coach Filip Šlosár and his team, our youth is also growing, two youth categories, U9 and U11, are currently being formed, with a total of approximately 30 children. We believe that thanks to the mutual support of the youth, the A team and the village, we will eventually be able to smoothly transfer our young footballers to higher categories and create strong youth teams.
Our U15 team is also preparing for the start of the second half of the season, under the leadership of coach Matúš Labuda. They will play their first match at home ground on 8th of April. at 15:00, they will face Vlčany. We will also try to create U19 in the future, however, the management of so many teams is financially demanding and without strong support from the local government, it is hardly feasible.
Building infrastructure
As was the case last year, this year too we will try to create the best possible conditions for youth, players and fans. Thanks to our main sponsor and funding from the private sector, we managed to build a grandstand before the match of the century with Slovan Bratislava, and at the same time, work began on the training pitch. Of course, lawn care on the main pitch can´t be missing in all of this.
We would like to welcome Martin Ševčík to the club structures, who decided to help our club. We believe that thanks to his huge experience, we can move our club to a higher level again.
